How are the photo files renamed ?
You can ask Youpix to rename your photo files by using various information items :
a common name for all the selected photos
and/or titles and keywords associated to each photo
These information items are added to the original name, or replace it. If you choose not to keep the original name, it is replaced by a simple number (001,002,...)
Once my photos sorted and described, can I use them on another computer or without Youpix ?
YES, you are not bound to Youpix, you can copy your pictures on an external hard drive, the new names generated with Youpix will be preserved.
Is Youpix compatible with search softwares ?
Yes, renaming pictures with Youpix is the best way to find them quickly with a search engine (like file search in Windows).
Why resizing photos with Youpix ? at which size ?
Pictures from a digital camera have a high resolution (several millions pixels), so :
the generated files are too heavy when you want to send them on the Internet or copy them on your mobile phone
the high resolution pictures, when displayed by an e-mail software, are too large with respect to the screen size, which is painful for the recipient
Youpix allows to get reduced copies easily , even for an entire batch, at relevant pre-defined sizes according to the planned use, such as e-mail. The copies are much less heavy than the original pictures, while the quality is still appropriate.
You can also set a format at your choice.
Can I modify my pictures with Youpix?
No, Youpix is not designed to modify but to manage, copy or rename pictures and does it well.
